DESIGN WITH ARTISANS IN RWANDA
EXHIBITION 2025
located at Juliana Curran Terian Design Center, Pratt Institute
This exhibition celebrates the unique collaboration between students, Rwandan artisans, and MASS.Made, where creativity and craftsmanship come together to produce innovative furniture. During an intensive summer program, students embed themselves with the MASS.Made team in Kigali, and work closely with local artisans to engage Rwanda’s rich artisanal traditions. They learn from MASS.Made, the furniture design studio of MASS Design Group, to leverage local materials and design techniques to advance sustainable practices within the local community. MASS.Made’s commitment to creating positive social impact through design sets a powerful example, refl ecting the studio’s values and aligning with the program’s core principles of cultural exchange, skill-building, and fostering sustainable design partnerships.
